Have to say all was fine until the renewal time. I made the effort to be sure my credit card info was UTD, but still kept receiving emails about Grace Period expiring, etc. It's been nearly impossible to get this resolved over the last few weeks (June into July 2017) despite many attempts, tickets, calls. Even now each time I visit their page I get the message "Not Protected". But they took my $40!!!!! So I still don't even know if I have service or not. >>>>>>>> An update, Aug.25,2017: Eventually all worked out, apparently the company was moving their office. Two tech support people responded to my ticket. One was bad and gave me information that conflicted with what PIA's website said (pertaining to which operating systems were supported) and one was very good and definitely went above and beyond. I still think this could've been managed by the company in a much better way than it was! The PIA client software conflicted with a new endpoint protection client I installed later, but the way it did, indicated it was doing its job well. Hello Jason - Received an email fm TrustPilot, regarding your/PIA's response. Just looked in my Outlook, I have info but hesitate to post names & ticket no.'s on a public website such as this. Are you able to see my email address, either fm TrustPilot or my PIA account record? thx K. Brown
Worked well for about 3 months, then it stopped connecting to a server. I did an uninstall and attempted a re-install, but it failed. I attempted this multiple times and also contacted the helpdesk three times, but didn't receive a reply. So now I have paid for a service that won't work. Extremely poor customer service. They need to fix the helpdesk service so that people can get a reply in a reasonable time (within 48 hours, in my opinion) and have alternate ways to contact them (chat room...phone number to talk to an actual human being). I am completely frustrated with this company and the waste of my money.
It always works....and works well! The download speeds are great, and I am very happy with privateinternetaccess ; I have been their customer for over 6 months and I highly recommend them.
I used PIA in past with no problem. I set up again this year but there was a problem with my login and I could not access. I emailed them on their website form, I get an automated response 'we will contact you shortly' but I hear nothing back. I have sent several more emails and raised a new support call but no answer. They have taken my money and it has been nearly 2 weeks now, still no reply and no service. Terrible customer service. They are supposed to be one on the best.
I used and paid last year mainly was alright ... Paid for my second year but this time havinh lots of issues. I cannot get onto some websites with PIA on and some Apps will not let me connect either and cannot download films etc on my app I use. So is basically useless if I cannot use all time. I contacted support 2 weeks ago about issue and still had no reply, but it is Okay as I will not renew for a 3rd year.
I was out of the country and wanted VPN, initially on my Android phone. An internet search indicated that PIA was a good option. I downloaded the software and was up and running in no time, able to mask my location as being back in the U.S. I purchased a year service and subsequently installed the Windows version on my laptop also for the duration of the trip. It has worked flawlessly and I continue to use it back at home in the U.S. The only hiccup I noticed was in trying to share my cell internet via my Android phone mobile hotspot, my wife could not connect to the internet via the hotspot unless I turned off PIA. Once she connected I turned it back on and it continued to work. I did not pursue the situation during the trip for lack of time, but adding PIA to her device is a simple fix since you get up to five devices with the subscription.
I could not install Private Internet Access. After several e-mails to them, they finally did get back to me with instructions. I followed them and still no success. I have since sent four e-mails to them with no further response. They have received my payment, but I've no VPN. No recommendation at all.
