Using PIA for only a few days now I only can say I am very content with it. The effect on my downloadspeed is minimal and the helpdesk (livechat) is great and the response is quick and to the point.

The best in class VPN service, easy to use with great support and customer care.

PIA has very few flaws. One of the biggest is at best only partially under their control, and that is blacklisting of their IP's by services such as Project Honeypot. A more proactive approach to making sure their IP's are whitelisted by such groups would make their customer's experience more pleasant. The next flaw is the truly abysmal Linux support. Their instructions rely on the network-manager supplied by Gnome (or its forks such as Cinnamon), which is known to be buggy with OpenVPN (Google Invalid VPN Secrets), having issues with properly storing credentials, and with not reconnecting after a disconnection. Bugs in someone else's product are of course not PIA's fault, but having their instructions use that product is. OpenVPN can be fully configured the terminal, and instructions for doing so would be more universal to the various flavors of linux (and probably unixes too) as well as avoiding the network-manager's "Invalid VPN secrets" bug that plagues so many of us. Another interesting bug I encountered was that using the VPN via my router with DD-WRT would break Steam's multiplayer game matchmaking feature. Using it via my PC in Windows or Linux wouldn't. I frankly don't know what the heck causes this one, nor whose fault it is. Their windows client is easy to use, and for the most part just dandy. It does have one tiny flaw though. For some reason when you choose to have it start at system start it doesn't do so through windows usual startup programs features. It instead starts via a task in the task scheduler. This can leave it starting AFTER other programs that use the internet could leak a persons IP. For those of us that value our privacy, we don't want potential internet traffic to leak out via other programs before the VPN has a chance to start. Also, changing the "start at logon" option in the client itself seems to have zero effect on the task in question.

I use PIA after looking into getting a VPN for the first time. I saw many great reviews from reputable organizations and after seeing the price compared to other services, I decided to spend the $40 for a year. I do wish they offered a free trial period but based on the great reviews I gave it a shot. I must say my service never "drops" as I have read. My internet speed is not slower according to many different speed checking services. I have asked many different questions via the live customer service on their site and have never waited longer than 5 minutes. My external ip is through my router which I expected to be a problem, but after checking if my Ip was masked through many different services including some which find VPN leaks, the VPN ip was always the one identifiable to me. This is the first and last time I ever need to search for a good VPN. Price is the best out there and it does what it's supposed to do. Don't need ever try another VPN service.

Works great. Minor issue :Recently PayPal has stopped accepting payments for subscription to vpn. There was no communication of this from PIA. So my subscription was cancelled and had to find another way to pay. You can be more proactive in sharing that kind of info with your customers. Thanks

It is a Ok product, biggest frustration is it slow downs your internet speed at least by 50% (ex: I have 100mbps and after connecting to VPM it slows down to around 25-40 mbps) I do understand it supposed to slow down certain amount, i'm my mind this slow down is too much. I'm from Australia and I connects to Melbourne server.

Impossible to use PIA to connect to netflix even when use canadian VPN to watch canadian Netflix. No privacy anymore. (edit : I already get in communication with your tech team... My concern is this : almost a 1 year ago a commit for a full year and now that something goes in PIA ways, they back off... It tells me that I can't trust that you guys will fight to respect my privacy. Other companies publicly said they will fight this issue so I feel in better hands going with them. You took a position and I respect that but you are goind to another direction that what I was expecting.)

Honestly for the price your getting it for, you can't beat it. A lot of other VPN's are either more expensive or free and in the case of the latter, you end up losing out because you won't have the complete package if it's free. Bottom line, if you want to anonymize your activity, Private Internet Access is the way to go.
