Makes it hard to know where to request refund
Speeds vary wildly. During the day, most of my apps are unusable because my network connect slows to a crawl. The app is intuitive and detects fairly well when on a trusted network. I have subscribed off and on to PIA over the years and the result is always same for me. Very slow speeds negate any usefulness of the vpn.
Private Internet access is what you get. Their apps for both computers and phones are easy to use, fast and functional. Connection established quickly and is very fast. I came to them from another VPN when I saw an ad for them by one of my favorite influencers. I decided to give it a go due to the 7 days trial and am not disappointed. They're faster and cheaper - very happy with 'em. One of the most reasonably priced VPNs out there, and very recommended.
I haven't had this service very long but it was easy to setup and has worked great so far. The ability to add this service across all of my devices is another great thing about this service.
I’ve only had the service about a week but so far , so good. No problems, easy to set up, easy to navigate.
Andrew Lee is a fraud and sells user data. Private internet access is a fraud organization and their product has taken a nosedive over the past 8 months. Be careful, this fraud is selling your data , threatening his own company employees, and making huge profits off of the backs of every user/customer he claims to protect. Best service for the price.
I've subscribed to quite a few VPNs over the years. PIA was okay, but not great, when I first signed up. Subscribing to a VPN is largely about trust and a lot of things must factor into trust. They lost my trust long ago when PIA chairman Andrew Lee hired Mark Karpeles as their CTO. For those who don’t already know it Karpeles was the head of Mt. Gox, the largest Bitcoin exchange. Due to either gross incompetence or outright fraud Karpeles was responsible for the biggest Bitcoin swindle of all time — $480 million. Karpeles' actions were directly responsible for almost completely destroying Bitcoin. Karpeles was arrested in Japan in 2015, was tried and convicted of records tampering. He's still named as PIA's CTO. Unfortunately this is a pattern with PIA. Their actions are often reckless and foolish.
It is an excellent service. The documentation is extensive and well written. I've never needed to use there live support because I've always found the answers I need in their documentation. The software is supported across multiple platforms, Linux, Windows and iOS being the ones relevant to me. Reading PIA's documentation is like getting an education in internet privacy issues. I appreciate all the effort they put into informing their customers and giving them the options they need or desire in a VPN service. Probably my favorite feature of PIA is the ability to pay for the service using cryptocurrency. This, in my eyes, shows that PIA is at the forefront of new technology and its relevance to the technologically sophisticated consumer. If they didn't use crypto as a payment method, I would probably be looking for another service that did. A VPN service is becoming an essential part of being online in a secure way across all devices. The fact that I can use one service to cover my personal computer, laptop, mobile phone and iPad with a consistent user interface across them all, gives me confidence that my privacy is being protected on all fronts in a demonstrable way.
I'm an existing customer (5 years and counting). I love the service and wanted to take advantage of a special 3 year offer I saw on Slickkdeals. I made the order and wanted to have it applied to my existing account since I still had a few months left before I needed to renew. Instead of applying it to my existing account like I thought it would, it created a completely new account. I opened a chat with Nathanael M. who was able to correct the issue in just a couple of minutes. He was polite and helpful. Can't ask for much more than that.
