Their VPN service works just fine and notice very little difference in speed. Only thing is when my subscription was two weeks from expiring logging in to my account the expiry date was a week early... I let the expiry date go by and since I was right the service worked for another week. To me it looks like they tried to make me renew my subscription early....
I used this vpn service for anonymous torrent downloads. and its great!
From my experience of being a customer for 3 years now, I'd day that PIA is a great VPN service. They fix issues quickly, add more security as soon as a issues is uncovered and offer fast reliable assistance to customers. My only issue is that as someone with 100 Mbps connection through my isp the VPN does slow me down quite a bit. But it's worth it for the added security and the ability to bypass geoblocking.
Just bought a VPN service through PIA. It seems like there is a known issue between the PIA VPN client and mac computers, who are going on standby while the client is running. The problem occur when you wake your mac from sleep, and the client should reconnect to a VPN server. It simply wont connect. A couple of times i was completely unable to acces any form of ethernet connection. I contacted support some times, before a person from support admitted, that this is a known problem. Their solution was that i should wait for a new patch before i can use my newly bought VPN service properly. This is completely unacceptable, that i, as a costumer buy a product that the seller PIA actually know doesn't work properly. Regards Christoffer
I've been using vpn services for a few years with 2 other suppliers, they worked but there were always issues, usually to do with speed so that I would only use it when I had to or leaving it rolling overnight for example. Now with PIA it runs the whole time (the objective!) speed is significantly better than anything I have previously tried, they are also competitively priced and so far the service is 100% reliable, so all in all I am a very happy customer, thank you PIA!
I was a little apprehensive about using any VPN service given the fact that your speed will be limited to that of the slowest link. PIA was incredibly easy to set-up and I have not noticed any drop in speed, even when torrenting. PIA's prices are definitely the best in the market and the option to pay with gift cards is awesome! If you are unsure about using this service simply buy one month and see for yourself.
Doing what it says it's doing and a lot of different configurations are available including OpenVPN for mobile. A+
I have used several different VPN services on the past year and each of them had the same problem of maintaining a fast and reliable internet connection. Then I found Private Internet Access, I was amazed by how easy it was to setup (took less than 5 minutes) and the access speed through their servers has been excellent. I would highly recommend Private Internet Access to anyone looking for a reliable VPN service.
I've had PIA for a year. Once we got the setting right, I have had no problem. Besides the privacy, I have the peace of mind knowing that I won't get hacked, compromised and/or invaded by some schmuks out there. They have a customer for life.
Great when it works, but their support — especially around billing and accounts — is very poor. I was given a free year because they screwed up so badly in my initial account creation, and then when the year was expiring I received a "renewal" email, but when I tried to renew I was given a new account, with new username and password, which means I would need to change settings on ALL my computers and mobile devices. When I reached out to support they told me they had no way to apply my payment to my existing account — what decade are we in???
