Though I'm not the sharpest knife in the digital drawer, I've had no problems setting up and using Private Internet Access. They deliver what they promise with speed and security.

I recently updated my review, please see below. I get less than 50% speeds on this VPN with my 100Mbs download most of the time. I contact customer support and they respond right away, which I like, but they just ask you to do the same things over and over. They asked me to do all these crazy tests and download these random programs to get them tons of logs from all over the place, finally I just gave up! It really seems like they're just trying to build a case where it's not their fault and they can say "tough luck". If they really wanted these tests done, update your program to include them! A lot of websites are now catching on to PIA and blocking them. As for sites that require you to be in a certain country, changing PIA to another country works for most sites, the number of sites that are catching on and blocking PIA entirely or refusing to allow access due to VPN is growing. This may be my last year before I go hunting for better service. Update (21/03/2016): After getting a response to this review (see below), I decided to give PIA another chance to help me. To my surprise (not really), they started my troubleshooting process right from the beginning again. I don't know how many times I've reinstalled this program, maybe 20? They don't bother looking at your previous case history, they just read directly from the script. When no one could help me I got passed off to a "level 2" support tech. Same story, he just asked me to reinstall and told me that the speeds I'm getting (now around 5% of what my non-VPN speeds are) are normal and to be expected. I've been with PIA for years and it was never this bad. They've taken on more customers and haven't upgraded their systems to match. Now we're all downloading at a snails pace. They refuse to believe that it's a problem on their end, even though I've tested it with 2 ISPs, 3 computers, and a cell phone and found they all have the same speed issues. They like to pass the issue off to the customer, "oh it's not us, it must be your computer, you must be doing something wrong, it's your fault" kind of thing. Do not be deceived by websites that rate PIA as being the fastest, they're sponsored sites, basically ads, so that you will subscribe to PIA. There are also lots of positive reviews on sites like this, I can only assume that it's PIAs marketing team posting fake reviews. AVOID PIA UNTIL THEY UPGRADE (which looks like it may never happen).

This is a very good company and they provide good service. They do what they say they are going to do. Very dependable.

I never have any problems when I use PIA. The only problem is related to my own computer and network very rarely. As an ISP technician, I would strongly recommend PIA. I'll get full speed on every location (haven't tried them all, but most of them). But I only have 75mbit at home. I'm a hardcore user too, but PIA have great capacity and handle my usage without any problems. And there is alot of other hardcore users (I guess) who uses their bandwidth too. The only "problem" is that the IP on some locations gets bot/black listed very rarely. This isn't PIA fault, but the users who abusing their service against other company's. And PIA has to deal with that as soon as you inform them. (It's impossible to know everything in the www..) :-). Overall I'll strongly recommend PIA!

I have been happy with PIA as a VPN service. At one point I had a problem on Windows 7 when I had their leak protection turned on. I was able to chat with a customer service rep right away and they helped me get the issue resolved quickly.

Next review should be a five star, this one is four because a few problems occurred that could of been handled much better, one customer service lady with a stick up her backside and a program that did not seem to want to work. since then however it has been smooth sailing, it works great, the cost is more than reasonable and my customer service issues have disappeared, so i am more than satisfied, this is a great company and could be a perfect 10 rating if they fixed the beginners blues part of the process. i can understand a few glitches when you start anything but i honestly find rude customer service unacceptable on every level, i'm a person just like you and deserve to be treated as such.

Title says it all. I've had 0 problems from the moment I wanted to try PIA to this very day, here I am in my 2nd consecutive subscribed year with nothing but positive reviews. I use PIA daily (I am mostly 100% of the time logged in through either the mobile or windows-based app). I've had to refer to the live chat a couple of times and 0 times have I not been properly supported and had my doubt/issue resolved. PIA offers a great service for a reasonable price. I am even able to play with PIA in a local based server and had only minor ping problems in games hosted overseas. I am certain that provided the level of support and quality they have is kept I will renew it many more times.
