I was happy when Netflix was working but now that you are "no longer" supporting the usage and access of Netflix via PIA, I feel that I renewed my one-year license for nothing... it was a working flawlessly before but Now I won't recommend you to anybody.
Very easy to setup and change geographical locations (IP Address) of my computer. However, BBC has recently setup a blocking of the the Private Internet Access servers IPs on computers using Microsoft. Hopefully, the company can adjust to fix this. I will be renewing again because of the excellent service. Thanks to the Private Internet Service team for their excellent quality of service.
I used this service a lot when traveling and accessing public hotspots. Invaluable to protect me. I've rarely been unable to connect to any of their servers in different counties. Speed has been really good - no issues there either. Even useful on my iPhone but I have to use with OpenVPN and it's somewhat slow - don't know the cause. I've heard of issues with other VPNs. Never had any with this one.
I recently checked and it appears that PIA is still the best or at least among the best out there. That being said, after being with them for over two years the only real problem I have with them is support. On the very few times I have had issues, the bottom line is the famous cure all of "remove the PIA programming and reinstall". THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I spent hours teaching myself how to manually load their software and to enter the settings to make it work properly on my Win 7 machine because their auto configuration did not work without flaws (kept dropping the vpn and locking me out of the net or not telling me I was exposed). Once I got it working it did well. However in the 2 years since I had a minor glitch and when I would question the tech as to why it might do that, "remove the old software and reload", So I spent hours and found the cause myself. Also you can forget about talking to a live person cuz that is not going to happen. Like so many other companies today the customer is not good enough to talk with a live person who knows what they are talking about. They are two busy chatting with 3 people at a time and getting the issues confused between them. So, so good to best company out there for the service they provide, but if your smart enough on your own you can tell their tech support does not cut the mustard. To the guy out there that recently posted about not canceling his service to get the $20 discount for 2 year subscription. You don't need to change all your settings you only have to change your password.
Been using the PIA for over two years now. It's been awesome, but lately, as they get more popular, the speeds for downloading and gaming have been really slow. Also, I use this service for Netflix, and I'm starting to get more and more blockage messages from Netflix, and it's taking longer for Netflix services to come back up than normal. Otherwise, PIA has great prices, and is normally pretty reliable. That being said, I might not be renewing after my current subscription, if the speed and Netflix issues aren't resolved.
Well,with regards to using normal VPN it's fine but if you enable any other options such as DNS leak protection,VPN kill switch the app just stops working intermittently.I use just it for just simple one desktop connection. Also,they took quite a while to resolve auto restart issue of their app for Windows 10.
Great service, been using this for years mainly to have better security on the internet to protect myself from being hacked, but often I will look down in my system tray and it's disconnected. So there goes my security. I have on question. Why? Why does this keep happening. Please get this fixed and I will give you 5 stars, ok?
