This review of PIA is based on only a few days of usage, but enough time to form some preliminary opinions. FIrst, I'm an IT professional, which likely means that my demands are greater and support needs are less than the average user. I setup my pfSense router to default to the PIA VPN gateway for all my LAN, WiFi and VOIP connections. Easy to do with the support docs provided by PIA. Everything functioned flawlessly until I attempted to use NetFlix, which blocks VPN access. That's not a fault of PIA, but a foolish elective move by NetFlix which will likely cost them many users who, as a result of recent FTC rulings, will find VPN access a new necessity. Anyway, I did manage to reconfigure my router to bypass the VPN connection for designated devices connecting to listed NetFlix IP addresses from my network. The difficulty was finding an up-to-date and comprehensive list of NetFlix IPs. It would be nice if PIA provided the list, but such bypassing via router is not available to the average user. I didn't ask PIA for the list, so maybe they can provide it. I did submit a support request for the client certificate on a weekend, but managed to find it online before normal business hours resumed. Haven't tried the Android app yet, but hopefully I can configure it so that it works at home with PIA access thru my router and thru the app elsewhere. As I said, so far, so good. Feeling a lot more secure and smug knowing that my monopolistic ISP, who is charging me a fortune, can't get any of my data, meta or otherwise, to sell

Works as advertised. I haven't really tried the total ad blocking yet because it says " only use if necessary. May cause connection issues". Besides that it works great as I am a first time user of a vpn. Easy set on multiple devices. My windows computer and my iPhone and wife's iPhone. Would recommend. For $40 a year why not try.
This company has been nothing but wonderful. They have been very kind and helpful aND their product was easy to set up with zero problems whatsoever. I would recommend this product to anyone.
really struggling with getting it hooked up to Amazon Fire TV and when I did a speed check with it working on my phone my internet speed when from 134 mps down to 16 mps when PIA was activated. Gonna let it go and try something else.
The service was fine. What worked with it, anyway. It was a little faster than what I replaced it with, actually. There were just too many problems with it. My router wouldn't connect to it at all. I followed all their instructions and even flashed a different firmware to try to get it to work, but had no luck. Also, none of my smart home devices would work while it was connected. They worked fine when I paused the VPN and work fine with the new one that I'm using, but not with PIA. Everything works fine with the new VPN I'm using, even Hulu and Netflix, and it took like 3 minutes to set up on my router. The worst thing is that I've received way more communication after cancelling the service than I did while I was subscribed. Multiple emails asking me to rate the service or provide feedback. Guys, just take the exit survey results and leave it at that, so that I don't have to bother marking you as spam.
It took a little effort to get it up and running, but now seems to work great. My only complaint would be I can't get on Ancestry.com while this is connected, I have to disconnect. Only used it for 2 days, will update in a few weeks. Update: My wife LOVES this service, it has stopped all the targeted ads that used to block her youtube videos.
The VPN is working well enough until high demand applications such as MMO's are being used. Then every few min i get extreme lag spikes. Have not tried VoiP or Streaming service yet but feel the issue will only get worse as more high demand applications are run.
This is the best VPN service you can buy (for the money). They may not have some of the more flashy features but they are secure, fast and reasonably priced enough to make you completely forget about the other competitors. In my books, they are the best!
