Buy PIA if you want affordability and performance .
While it keeps you hidden very well, it doesn't work with many internet sites and actually slows down a lot of my download speed. Out of the 4MB I can usually get, I can only now get no higher than 800Kb. Huge difference and I am supposed to pay for this service? Hope they do something about it very soon or I shall go elsewhere for my VPN.
I had been using Hotspot Shield for some time. It was reasonably effective and the pricing was competitive, but I decided to look for a simpler, faster VPN to support my family's Macs and iOs devices. After reading a bunch of reviews and comparing features and prices, I selected PIA. So far, I'm very pleased. The account and apps were super easy to configure and the service has been consistently fast and stable. I've only been running on PIA for a week but I'm pretty sure I'll become a long term customer.
One of the biggest concerns I had was a decline in my internet speed when I used a VPN. So I attempted a couple services before and did I make a mistake doing that. Not only is PIA the fastest but 30% cheaper than both that I tried. Excellent Service and finally I feel secure in my privacy on the internet.
Spent a weekend morning reading over many reviews of different VPN solutions and decided with PIA, I am exteremy pleased with my decision as every part of the service went smooth. From signing up, to getting the software installed and then lastly getting onto the vpn, testing/verifying the connection. As soon as you sign up they send you a clear easy to follow email with you un/pw, they even send you a link with your personal installer. You can't get any easier. My connection hasn't dropped and speed's are great. In fact I am going to upgrade to the yearly plan.
Really lovely company but I had so many problems even getting it to accept the password. Once it was connected it made my Mac really slow. They kept sending questions and instructions which were too difficult for me to understand. Shame as I really wanted to stick with this company.
Been using this VPN for about 2 weeks. VERY fast and VERY cheap. Uses great encryption and their privacy standards are top notch. Would recommend this to anyone. However, the refund window is only 7 days. It would be really cool if this was longer (30 days) if one is paying yearly. I bought a full year and my school has blocked PIA. So I asked for a refund since school is the only time I need a VPN. However, I was outside the window. I think I've got it working though now thanks to changing my DNS. Overall, great experience. Great support. FAST speeds.
i've been using Private Internet Access for about 2 wks. I've found it to be fast and reliable. I'm on Verizon DSL with about 4.5 mb/s download and 0.71 upload speeds without the VPN connected. With PIA VPN connected I'm consistently getting 3.8 mb/s down and 0.61 mb/s up. This doesn't seem to affect my ability to stream Youtube and Vimeo videos. Because of a Netflix requirement, I have to turn off PIA VPN to play content from their site. Private Internet Access is an excellent service which I highly recommend. Low cost, effective, and reliable.
