Highly recommend PIA to anyone wanting anonymity, speed and plenty of IPC addresses and countries. Works well and best value for the money out there
I've been using PIA for a couple of weeks, it works great. I haven't used the desktop clients yet, but I use the Android app when I'm connected to WiFi at work or in public places. It's simple to connect to VPNs in different countries, and it shows you the upload and download speeds of your connection.
Great VPN Easy installation... just click ! Don't need to be expert to be protected! 5 star custumer services; I did get my answer within minutes. No speed issue; can't see any difference and SPEEDTEST is telling me I have a 5% drop. Great price !
Always a great experience< prompt customer service also.
I am new to the service. So far I have had no problems and am hoping that renewing my service will be easy once my month trial runs out.
Well, the vpn service works well and reliable. Annoying is the automaticly created recurring payment, the impossibility on the website to just extend your subscription for a year or just buy a new subscription within the same account. The confusion with different email addresses used for PayPal and the subscription itself gives irritation too.
Installed easily and the interface is simple and usable. It does exactly what I needed.
Always works correct and provides a hassel free customer experiance.
Price ok (around 30 USD/year), buying was easy. Installed on Windows 7 with F-Secure antivirus & firewall. Connect with PIA and blue screen of death comes every time. Thats ok, probably F-secure is to blame. Main intrest was to use on linux box for torrenting and it works great. Download speeds are exceptable, around 1-2 MB/s (connection is about 7-8MB/s). Didn't try with android yet.
I've tried several VPNs, but found they all had issues, usually failure to connect to the VPN, or difficulty maintaining a connection. So I tried PIA on a one month subscription. On the iPhone it is great. It connects quickly to the VPN and (more importantly) seems to maintain the connection at all times. In the week I have been using it, I haven't had to manually re-connect it at all (a first in my experience!). The interface is quite basic, with no confusing options for the novice. This may also be its greatest shortfall with no user control - apart from selecting which country you want to connect to, you can't choose what level of encryption you use. In fact, it is only if you read the FAQs that you are told what encryption is being used. I would like this to be readily visible in the app itself. On the iMac I initially had some problems with the VPN not automatically re-connecting when my computer was woken from sleep. Additionally, I was finding that some webpages (including my home page) were painfully slow (in excess of 1 minute) to open. However when I abandoned the Private Internet Access client and downloaded the Viscosity client ($9) from the 'sparklabs' website, all my problems seem to have been resolved. I now have a stable connection that re-connects as soon as my iMac wakes from sleep, with all webpages loading as I would expect. For info, I have also used PIA on my iPad, and to cut a long story short, rather than using the PIA app to connect on my iPad, I have found that using my PIA login credentials with the OpenVPN app (free on the App store) gives a better user experience In summary: iPhone - I use the PIA app iPad - I use the OpenVPN app with PIA login details iMac - I use the Viscosity client with PIA login details With the above settings, I would definitely recommend Private Internet Access as a VPN provider and will definitely extend my one month trial subscription when it is due.
