Overall I am very happy with PIA and its service. Most of all I am please that have kept my privacy between PIA and myself. They have not passed my information to 3rd parties. Occasionally I have some speed problems and a few drops from the server. Nothing to complain about,. PIA.has a beta installer for Linux Mint that works well. Plus PIA installs easy with most Debian based OS's. I have been running on Mint, SolydX, Robo Linux and Windows. Next renewal I will go with the 2 year plan which is a great bargain. I would like to see some more US and UK servers to connect to.. I recommend PIA to anybody who want or need privacy. Sincerely,,, Pittly
PIA is good, it works flawlessly, the speed is much slower (I must assume this depends on the user's location), but certainly not too slow to be usable (even for HD movies). I've been using it for over 2 years, and never had any serious complaint. (But be careful about the size of the log files, you have to manually delete them once in a while.)
Private Internet Access has created the simplest methods for switching on a VPN connection whether it's for my laptop or iPhone. Icons and apps allow me to easily switch on the connection to know I'm secured. They also allow me to choose a very wide variety of locations all over the globe, even providing a tool to check the speed of each connection. I very quickly switched from a monthly subscription to yearly, I was so happy with the experiance.
I have not used any other VPN service but I believe PIA to provide the best value for money. The service has never let me down in the years I have used it from wherever I have been in the world. The support facilities are excellent and backed up by extremely useful forums that, in my case, helped me set up my router to enable my entire house to gain VPN access. This is a fully comprehensive, professional and competent service.
It's a lot harder now to use a VPN service on sites that prevent geo-blocking. Some sites have a valid reason to do this, and some sites have very little reason at all - jeopardizing our anonymity in the meantime. It has created a difficult time between PIA and my account, but this of course is not PIA's fault. Nonetheless... it will be interesting to see what problems this new "geo blocking" allowances will create for clients and companies alike, going forward.
Generally can only leave VPN on for a little while (a day perhaps) because then the service becomes so poor it reminds me of my 56k modem back in the day. Annual price is very good and the little iPhone/iPad up is very handy, so decided to be generous with 3*
PIA changed its terms and conditions to remove an essential service, without telling its clients. It decided to stop supporting geo unlocking but sat back, took the money and waited to see if anyone complained. I did, and was told to get lost. Good riddance, PIA.
The service is great, but.... There are to much monts that I must connect again. But general is this the best VPN company.
I've been using PIA for about a year now and am consistently amazed at how reliable the service is. I've seen additional locations added and have never had issues with connection speeds. Certainly the first VPN I recommend to people in the market.
The first year I had a good experience using PIA. But the last 3 months I can no longer connect without it absolutely destroying my internet speed. Tech support was less than helpful. And the suggestions they gave me to try and fix the issue were honestly just too time consuming. I won't be renewing my subscription.
