I like how simple their app is, specially how it needs only a few clicks to get connected. One single issue is that it doesn't support high DPI screens. It's not a big deal but it makes me feel like the app is so outdated keeping in mind that all high end laptops nowadays have higher than 1080p resolution screens. Also they (unlike competitors) do not offer dedicated ip with their service or SmartDNS. Lastly, all their VPNs are now blocked by Netflix yet no dedicated ip service has been offered to overcome this issue unfortunately. Geographic restriction is a joke and it contradicts with Net neutrality. I have renewed twice and it would probably be my last renewal unless missing services are offered.
I messed up my initial registration resulting in me not receiving my login information (Wrong email address). I talked to chat and after that had to open a support ticket which was responded to and resolved within less than a few hours.
I've been using Private Internet Access for over 3 years. I tried a couple of others before finally finding PIA and found them to either be difficult to set up, confusing to turn on and off, and sometimes I had doubts as to whether they were really working. PIA was easy to set up, is easy to connect/disconnect and the little "green guy" is an obvious indicator that it PIA is working for me. It is dependable, very user friendly and has never let me down. The price is right and well worth it.
I work in IT, and I have been looking for a good/cheap/easy VPN to use for downloading "whatever" I want. I use PIA on all of my devices (Windows laptop & desktop, iPhone, and Android), and it has worked flawlessly. Overall, I have been impressed with the connection speeds, and the options available. I would highly recommend this to any of my friends (and I already have). *I have not used a lot of other VPN services...and honestly, I don't plan on ever trying another.....in my opinion, its that good.
Great, but problems installing on a Windows PC, but the tecchies sorted it out, but if I wasn't computer literate, I don't think I could have managed it. And on an iPhone, it keeps dropping out. Very annoying. But it seems to work fine, except on the iPhone, and you can use it on multiple devices for the same money. Oh, and another thing, you might have to look for the icon in the "hidden icons" bit on your Windows PC. It doesn't put the icon on your desk top. Very fast response from the tecchies, immediate in fact, excellent value. In fact I'm going to upgrade to an annual now, I seem to have talked myself into it!!
Let's see, doesn't happen all the time but enough to regret paying for this disservice: Lag, internet connection cuts off and I have to wait about 3 minutes for it to come back on as the PIA disconnects itself and doesn't reconnect. I have to restart the computer to get it to work (yeah right) again. And apparently it doesn't even work as only 14 hours ago I received a Notice of Copyright Infringement letter with my normal IP address when my internet surfing should have been "private", hence PrivateInternetAccess. Stay away from this service. It'll show you're under a different ip address, but obvious to cable companies, they know who and where you are.
I have not had any problems with PIA. When I had questions about my computer and the configuration of the PIA in my computer they were very knowledgable and helped a lot. The fixed the problem quickly and they were very nice and easy to work with.
I have read good things about PIA. However, I immediately had technical problems on the installation. While I am quite comfortable with fiddling with my PC, it was a bit too much to ask for me (or anyone I would say) to go in and hack the registry to make the software to work. Also, when I was working online with the support representative there would often be a 3 to 5 minute wait between responses. She informed me that was because she was supporting 2-3 chat online at a time to keep the overall response times down - which I appreciate, having run help desks before –butit felt too time-consuming and I didn't have a lot of time to fix the problem. I ended up trying Torguard and that was a far more smooth process.
PIA is my go-to VPN when I want use a VPN, which isn't that often. I have used them once a year for years now and I would not think about switching. I will say that sometimes the connection is slow, but that could be my ISP, because of the rather complicated internet situation we have in my country.
Service is good But Android app is ugly for design, and has no widget
