I knew I loved these guys from the moment I could access the BBC iPlayer. Very fast speeds, reasonable price, and many different geo-locations to choose from. Very happy.
I have had PIA for over a year and I rarely see any slowdowns. Coupled with TOR browser this is excellent peace of mind regarding my families privacy. Starts with Windows and when I don't need it, I shut it off. I think we pay short of 40 bucks for a year. Great service when I restored my PC and forgot my PIA password. EXCELLENT SERVICE!
Good value, good product. Some issues in some features, like DNS protection, that might require messing around with Your DNS settings / uninstalling NIC or similar. The VPN is good, and has very nice speeds.
PIA works completely as advertised, as far as I can tell. I haven't had any problems. In some locationsI have had a few problems making the connection, but I haven't had the opportunity to discover whether this is because of PIA or because the public access wi-fi service I was using somehow blocked the service. I also wish that my iPhone would automatically connect with PIA when connecting with an unsecured wi-fi connection, but alas, this seems not to be possible.
Been using Private Internet Access for almost a year now, and very happy with it. Service is always available, no issues experienced. I'm by no means a super savvy VPN user, but it does what I need it to do. Traffic may be slightly slower than not going through a VPN, but it's the trade-off I'm willing to have for privacy and anonymity. I'm able to use the service on any device with the program or app installed, even at work, which is fantastic. Have and will recommend Private Internet Access to anyone in need of a VPN. No drama, good times.
I am very satiesfied. Good and friendly website and fully worth for your money. The installation is easy and clear also for the simple users. Greetings Niels From Holland
I've never had any issues with PIA, and the multitude of security tests I've done over the years has shown it to be a secure method for browsing. I love that you can have it on your mobile devices to protect you when you're travelling, and up until recently, being able to access geo-locked content was great. I don't blame them for Netflix's policies for example, there's only so much they can do, and it's easier for Netflix to ban their Ips than it is for PIA to get more, so if this is your intention with getting PIA or any VPN for that matter, best to look at a different option. But for safety and security, they're great, and they offer amazing speeds. The only time I've had issues is when I'm accessing tunnels on the other side of the globe, and I think that was my (old) ISP just throttling my speeds. Since changing I"ve not had the same issues. I have and will continue to recommend PIA to all of my friends looking for VPNs.
Just like the title of this review says. PIA has no Port Forwarding Gateways in the United States. This is troublesome because using a Gateway in Canada or other countries is some much slower.
I heard of Private Internet Access was rated one of the best VPNs around. So I decided to give them a go. It was the best decision I ever made! I like the easy access icon that allows me to disconnect or connect to a variety of countries or parts around the US. Its allowed me to feel safer knowing I wont be monitored by hackers or anyone else that just wants to snoop my connection. The only thing I would recommend though when choosing which area to be on is this. Find the right server that would give you the fastest connection. Some servers gave me a low 3mbs down to 5mbs up while others gave me nearly as much speed as my ISP like 28mbs down to 30mbs up.It all depends where your connected so try them out do a speed test to see which one matches your ISP the bst then connect to that one. My ISP is frontier Fios and my speed with them are 30 up 30 down.
This is everything you need from a VPN for a very good price. The VPN protects from snooping law firms, it unblocks Youtube here in Germany, or the BBC iPlayer. Never tested Hulu or Netflix, not a fan. I choose this service because they promise that they do not log the activities/connections of their users. That is the most important point.
