I tested my computer connection speed 5 times each on both my PC and my laptop PRIOR to PIV installs, speeds were 27mbps and 16mbps download for each. With PIV on, my speeds jumped to 53mbps and 38mbps, I was blown away. I turned PIV off and my speeds dropped back down to pre-install levels. I turned PIV back on - and my download speeds almost increased x2again. Checking my IP address on multiple sites with PIV both active and non-cative showed that the program works and does what it claims to do. I am blown away at the increase in speeds, this $40 a year service will save me over $120 by increasing my connection speed which verizon would have charged me $10 a month to do. I am not connected with this company in any way - this is an honest - real life review, but I would literally be losing money if I did not install PIV and upped my connection speed. If this keeps up over time, I have no choice but to pay the $99 to get the service for life. I still don't get how my speed went up buy - THANK YOU for making that happed! DJH
Доволен что из при соединении из Беларуси со шведским сервером даёт полную скорость моего провайдера 25/25 мегабит — то есть никакого дискомфорта от использования VPN нет.
Thanks to the stalking of our ISPs, and the ads so intrusive, I felt the need to use a VPN. This allows us to use our paid for service the way we wish without interference from groups who have no business in our business. This VPN does throttle your speed down, that's just the name of the game, folks. But. Not THAT bad. And you're protected. And they don't log. Great company it seems to me, product offered is true to claim and works well. Credentials are pretty good so far as I've seen. $40 a year isn't terrible. Can't leave it on all the time, interfered with Cast, and Hulu, but you just turn her on when you need it to protect you, if you get the jist. I researched the gamut, this is a good VPN. Full featured and a fair price. Ten stars.
I've used P.I.A. for the last two years and it's always worked great. I've never had any problems and for the price, it's unbeatable.
Very fast speeds and I trust them to keep my data private. I read an interview with the CEO where he said that he would wipe all the servers and let the company fold rather than release any customer data of requested to do so. They offer various encryption algorithms and strengths as well as DNS leak protection and VPN kill switch to prevent any unintended traffic passing unencrypted. They also offer many servers across the globe. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I occasionally lose connection and I have to disconnect from the server and try again. Doesn't happen all the time, though.
I switched to PIA from Torguard because I was having some problems with the Torguard software, nothing major, just a bit annoying. I think PIA is a tiny bit faster, but, being in Australia, our internet is not that fast to start with. The software is definitely better and it seems to connect much quicker in the background, I hardly notice it unlike Torguard which seemed to have lots of issues connecting, especially after waking from sleep. I did have a major problem with the software creating a huge (like 80GB huge) file on my SSD. I have solved this myself with advice from the forum, but it's worth noting that PIA have known about the issue for months and done nothing about it - it's quite unacceptable really. I also use the torrent proxy and it's fine so far.
My earlier experience with VPN providers have produced different negative results compared to PIA. This one provides a smooth connection with no confusing, slow-to-load interface to have to configure each time. I don't have to choose a host country and other laborious chores each and every time I go online. And customer service seems - thus far, to be fast and courteous. I also don't have to worry about this VPN creating it's own, highly visible network connection for my ISP to ask about when their cable tech comes by when their crappy system fails. My only complaints thus far have to do with poor download speed and Google's harassment. In the first case, my download speed consistently drops from 50 Mbs that I pay for, down to 5-7 Mbs. But upload speed remains about 20-25 Mbs. The second issue is that Google sends me warnings that my machine is "acting suspiciously" or some such wording and makes me input a few captchas to prove I'm not a bot. Together, these issues are not going to ruin my day (I hope), but I would sincerely appreciate any explanation to these two items from tech support. Other than these two complaints, I'm pretty happy so far.
Great service. Been using for a week straight with no problems and service is fast.
I have used PIA for years. When it works it's FANTASTIC, and it usually works. However, it periodically has some glitch or another and they are mysterious and hard to figure out. The site has a help chat, but it also has some glitches (one time it stopped recording my replies so the operator just cut it off; another two times the message chime wouldn't sound and while waiting for an operator it cut off...). When there is help, it's usually pretty technical, often requiring one to access the "advanced" settings, which is fine, but the solutions don't always work. I'm wanting a more behind-the-scenes functioning service that just stays on and doesn't need as much hand-holding. Overall - it's worth having, because it often works. I wish it were more reliable though.
I'm only using the Socks5 protocol off PIA and speed and Stability is close to 99% so far.. For the price this is a very very solid buy. I don't seed the point of sending all my traffic (VPN) when i can use a socks5 connection and only pick the apps i want to tunnel. BTW, I'm connecting from Sweden ;)
