One month in and I'm a big fan. Pretty easy to set up, available on all my devices and the help pages are actually helpful.
Only used for about a week so far so good. I haven't noticed any slow down at all. I guess time will tell if I am really hidden seems to be so far.
Horrible experience since signing up for PIA. Constant disconnects, slow performance and a ton of bugs. Do not expect a quick (or any) solution to your issues from customer support. Days and days without an appropriate response. No phone number or forum (should tell you everything you need to know about them). Who cares if they don't log if they take over your computer and do not provide the service you paid for. Cannot even uninstall properly with these guys. DO NOT LET THEM IN YOUR COMPUTER. Would not renew with them even if it were free!

I give them 2 stars for speeds and cost. But on the other hand, user interface of software is basic with less details. I also hate the fact that they tell you they have like 1500+ US VPNs but connect you based on regions (States). I wish there was a way to see list of towns, cities, or localities so you connect on where you want to. Not just give me a few states to connect to. Each time you disconnect and reconnect to the same state you reconnected to the previous IP. It's a novice user VPN.

I have a friend who rates PIA very high. I was with another provider and have tried another but when I signed up for a month to try PIA I was very impressed. The android app and apple app are both easy to navigate. Download speeds on my android box and firestick work very well with VPN turned on. I have no hesitation in recommending PIA. I will definitely be signing up again.

As a seasoned vpn user of over a decade I've subscribed to a number of vpns. When I first subscribed to PIA they were okay. But PIA's customer support went to hell in a handbasket in early 2015 and has never recovered. Everything else about PIA also went off the rails about that time too. Things have only gotten worse over time. So take the negative PIA opinions seriously, not just here but everywhere you see them (they're all over the internet). The negative opinions aren't anomalies but a daily occurrence as evidence of PIA's incompetence, bungling, and duplicity. Seasoned vpn users know to avoid marketing hype-driven companies. The vpn world is overwhelmed with marketing hype, and PIA is the worst offender of all. Those who genuinely think well of PIA (and weren't just paid by PIA for positive "reviews" of which there are many) tend to be novices and have been lucky enough to not run into any problems... yet. Once they do have a problem (and they will because it can happen with any vpn) they'll quickly come to realize why PIA has so many angry former customers. PIA routinely ignores support tickets and they especially ignore requests to honor their 7 day money back guarantee. The only way you're likely to get your money back when they ignore your request is to start posting negative comments here and on their subreddit (and if that doesn't work file a fraud claim with your credit card company). Amazing how quickly they respond to public criticism, yet they routinely ignore their own support portal. And when they do respond they're likely to say, "This is the first instance we have heard of this happening." What's hilarious is how many "first times" there have been. We're talking hundreds and hundreds of first times! Yes, PIA is cheap (which is why they're often called "The Walmart of VPNs") but it's just not worth all the headaches you're likely to have. Spend a few dollars more and subscribe to a good vpn.
