You have services like Nord and PIA that work much better and faster. However, it's a trade off. Those services come with a much bigger price tag. For example, PureVPN might trying to grow too fast right now with such a lower price. It can get buggy at times and you can spend hours to get it to work, esp with UDP/TCP which I think is the only permissible protocol. The buyer shouldn't be doing any coding or tweaking to get programs to work. It should be seamless for the consumer. But the software is decent. PureVPN has gotten better lately but it still can get pretty laggy at times and the IP address i get associated with sometimes has some bad reputation for shady activity. I don't know if most of the traffic that use PureVPN uses the VPN for download illegal torrents or something but I'll occsionally get requests from sites like Google to verify that I'm not a robot or something before. This has never happened to me before. And it kinda' scares me. The ip address is supposed to hide me but if it's constantly associated with illegal activity, how can I confidently hide? It's like this. You might not have to wear a mask while you're in your part of town but even if you wear a mask in a drug dealing area, it's not as if you're exactly invisible. You might get targeted and robbed. I'm not an IT pro so I'm not sure if I'm way off base here and if someone would like to chime in, please do so. I got this service because I don't use VPN much but I do want to protect my identify from identify theft when I web surf, esp from sites that seem shady.

PureVPN does not throttle my connection speed, and offers a connection so reliable that, to date, I've never experienced it spontaneously disconnecting me. The sign-in method is far simpler than the competitor's, making it clear that I have already subscribed and not offering to start a new, unnecessary second subscription.
