I recently came back from over seas and found out I have been charged for another year subscription for Nord VPN. I didn’t realise you have to turn of automatic payments or that they keep your credit card details.
le logiciel est simple d'emploi : tu choisis le pays du serveur que tu veux, et hop, c'est parti. Je n'ai pas eu de ralentissement durant l'upload de mes documents, ni durant le down load. J'ai eu acces à Netflix USA pour voir les series et films. Je le recommande, meme s'il est un peu plus onéreux que d'autres.
When it works it's fine. in fairness that has been most of the time BUT, when I was asked to upgrade to the latest release (their messaging is always a "latest and greatest, happy-clappy" inducement) I began to receive the dreaded "network settings wants to modify your configuration" message over and over. Their Customer Support are certainly both polite and responsive BUT - and it's a huge BUT - they don't know how to take you through any process in a simple, step by step manner. They expect you to be a fully paid-up Geek since many of their suggestions are way beyond the capabilities of an IT "civilian". Additionally, there is no continuity so a variety of CS personal will suggest whatever THEY think is a good move. I have been asked to download THREE different versions of the software and NOTHING has proven valid. Now I can't even access Safari, Chrome or any browser until I had deleted Nord from my MAC. I'd love to get back to a working Nord system but that seems impossible. The Company has promised to refund the balance of my three year contract so we will see if this materialises...
Their website does not state anywhere about the free trial. When I went to get the free trial my account was charged in full, which overdrew it. When ask to do a reversal of authorization, they acted like they never heard of it. I have contacted my bank about placing fraud charges against them. DO NOT USE!
It's a great thought. A cheap vpn with all the extravagant features. But I assume that cheap is not always the best way to go, similar to free vpns. I'm not saying they log your information but as far as speed goes - it doesn't even compare to the speeds that I'd get with ExpressVPN. Sure, the price wasn't comparable but I couldn't get stuck for 3 years with slow speeds. Youtube took forever to load, videos were always buffering - it was terrible. I tried different locations and different options.Also had a problem with the connection dropping out or saying connected but once I opened a new tab, I still wasn't connected. (Never had this problem with any of the other VPNs I tried.) I suppose all the options are good for some people but I found it tedious. I just needed to connect to different locations (to watch location blocked videos) or just connect in general. Points go to customer service who was prompt in canceling my service and saying sorry that things didn't work out. Also, the continuous allure of 75% off (2.99 a month) seems suspicious. I thought i was special and bought into the deal. And then - what do you know? That countdown clock is still there and it's restarted.
NordVPN appears to be great at marketing. Their VPN service, not so much. Constantly dropping connnections, failing to connect, etc. You can't pick servers - can only connect to one they choose, which is probably the cheapest one for them. They claim to have thousands of servers, but they refuse to disclose a list and if one pays attention, the servers are constantly changing. Their application looks good, but under the hood works like a class project done by 12 year old kids. The internet kill switch has never worked properly and they are in no hurry to fix it. Haven't tried apps other "features" but wouldn't be surprised if few or none of them work as advertised. I have communicated with their "tech support" many times. Impossible to get a straight answer on anything. Queries will be answered by quoting a script. Subsequent queries will be replied to by a different person, so no one is responsible and no one has any real interest in solving customer problems. Have no idea why they receive top ratings from websites who set themselves up as experts, though it's not hard to guess. Don't believe what you read in glowing reports about their marketing prowess - I mean service. Organization is awful, product is awful. My subscription runs for two more years, but I'm sick of NordVPN's nonsense and will be going to another service. Run, don't walk, away from NordVPN. Other people are matching their low prices and trust me, NordVPN does not deserve your money.
I previously used another VPN for about a year but it leaked my DNS and so I switched to NordVPN a couple of years ago. I am fully satisfied with the service for the following reasons : 1- No DNS leak (This is very important because getting a different IP address with your DNS leaking is like hiding behind your finger!) 2- I can access Netflix from any part of the world - something I couldn't do with the VPN I used previously. 3- Once connected, my browsing and streaming speeds are not affected in any way. 4- I have a dual boot (Windows 7 and Linux Mint 18), and it works perfectly under both Operating systems. This said, my current subscription ends in April 2020, but I am sure I will renew it for another 3 years - till 2023 and I am happy with that.
I have used NORDVPN for a few weeks and found it to be good overall The issues i have encountered are 1.iplayer slow speed on tablet 2.having to use certain servers only 3.impossible to allow iplayer on firestick on tv in Spain after spending over 12 hours talking to their tech dept who are helpful but were unable to come up with a way to input sign in code from tv/firestick that allows you to watch If not for firestick none access i would rate 5
I have been using this program for a couple of months now and it has a number of issues working with some very common applications such as tv and search engine links. Speed is about, at best 20% lower at worst very slow. Some websites see the connection as outside the uk when I am on uk servers, such as my bank, If you want protection when you are online it is here. I have found that if you disconnect and reconnect a number of times you eventually get a connection but not, so far, with my bank. I tried to use it in America recently and it was extremely hard work getting it to think I was in the UK. I managed it a couple of times but had better things to do than try a multitude of different severs to get a connection. Nordvpn works great when you are not using it online. If you are surfing, best to disconnect from Nordvpn. In other words it is similar to Chocolate fireguard.
Very fast VPN, I am very satisfied. Manual configuration for certain uses might be required, this is why many users seem to spazz out and give a 1-star rating here, but this is excellent value for money and they offer a good support.
