No problems, works as advertised, reasonably priced!
When on auto-protect, sometimes need to manually secure through the app. Otherwise very consistent and simple security.
the VPN works great for my macbook (I'd give the standalone mac application 5 stars) but the iPhone application makes my wifi unusable. I wasn't even aware that it was the problem, and it was only after factory resetting my phone and having the wifi work again, and then re-installing the VPN and having it break again that I figured out that it was the problem.
I’ve used Encrypt.me since shortly after it was released as Cloak. It’s been reliable with occasional challenges with captive logins (I occasionally have to trust a network to complete login, then can remove it from the list to enable the VPN). I have tried some less expensive options but 1) they’ve been far less reliable (e.g, slowdowns, unable to connect), and 2) are all-or-nothing on/off. The option to set trusted networks and have Encrypt.me automatically activate for all others is the killer feature: it’s the reason I’ve used it for so long,
I am having difficulties renewing my Apple certificate. No easy way to contact encrypt.me to ask how to resolve. Have to use the forum, which I am happy to do, and capable of doing, but there is simply an unanswered question exactly the same as mine. Not brilliant that encrypt.me cannot provide a better way to solve this problem, as the service is useless to me unless I can resolve this.
Just works, does what I want when needed automatically.
Several times now, when I need VPN on public Wi-Fi, it won't work on the iPhone. The green VPN slider won't stay on. I have to wait until I get back on my home network, then delete the Encrypt.me app, and re-install the app.
I have an ongoing issue with overcloak and wonder if encryption is working as notification that overcloak is blocking access yet some links to websites work. I've fiddled with preferences as suggested but still do not have faith in the system. I have gone elsewhere and so for so good.
Connection stability is still occasionally an issue, but has definitely improved.
Ongoing problems with staying connected - I have had a lot of instances recently (and over time) of getting disconnected from online service while I'm using them because your service decided to break mid-stream. I look up and see the blue icon gone, then have to manually re-set the connection to a different location to get it to work again. This is exactly the kind of thing that should be happening automatically but it's been doing this now for years. Fix your software. Also, especially recently (the last few weeks) I've been getting error trying to send outgoing emails and the fix is always to turn off your security server. It seems my outgoing email servers think your IPs are being used to send spam and are blocking them. The Atlanta server is bounced regularly, and a few others, so I wind up having to turn you off or hunt for a server that is letting email though. This is particularly unconscionable and has me actively researching an alternative to your service.
