I had been using another service and found it slow and their help desk unhelpful, IF I could reach them at all. Even before I signed up with PIA I had all my questions answered within minutes. Since signing up I am very pleased. I have had two occasions to contact support - both times not really relating to their service but to issues connecting to other sites and in both cases they had the answers I needed. Highly recommended.
I spent a lot of time reviewing and checking out different VPN's and this one appeared one of the best based on the many reviews. I've had it 2 years now and its still the best price, easiest to set up & completely reliable. I would (and have) recommend to family & friends without hesitation.
I've been a customer for a few years now and can't think of a single incident when the service didn't work as advertised, or was offline. It's one of the great services that's always there and is easy to use.
Unbelievably affordable, and after using them for a year, connections are good, speed isn't ever affected, and I feel a lot safer. I have no reason to believe at this point that they keep any logs of my activity, and I really like that. I also really like that it confuses companies who track me. Getting German ads is really funny.
Love it. Tried a couple others, but the frequent updates and excellent customer service are what keep me renewing this service. Reliable. Safe.

Private Internet Access used to be much faster. Now when I connect, my speeds drop to about 10% of my standard speed. There's now an option to report slow speeds, but I think that's just to make customers believe the company cares. I've been reporting slow speeds for months now with no improvement. I have had zero success in using PIA as a proxy for specific programs only instead of my entire connection. The support solution was to get new software or just not use the proxy server that way — you know the way proxy servers should work. The support staff has been useless and never answers my questions directly the first time. Contacting them isn't something I bother with anymore. I'm just running out my time with the auto-renewal, which I never saw a notice of before I was charged. Two stars for the solid past.
I've never had any problems with the software or speeds to the VPN servers. I have recommended them to numerous friends of mine and will continue to do so.
Occassionally when I go to use it I find that it has dropped out, but all I have to do is restart it. This may be some kind of glitch with AT & T ? Either way it is no problem. I have had the service 3 or 4 years with no other problems. It is great to be able to watch programmes and videos from countries the other side of the world without being blocked from them. This is good if you want to hear news directly from where things are happening. You get another view. I like that. For someone who is an ex-pat this is very important. I would definitely recommend PIA to others.
Generally it is ok. Before the lastest update, PIA often gave a green sign, indicating that you had a save and private VPN connection, while in reality you had not. If you for instance asked WhatIsMyIpAddress.com for your own IP address, you saw the IP address of your provider, not that of PIA. Often, I had to restart PIA several times to get this ok. After the latest update, this seems to be solved, but I saw that the VPN connection disconneted spontaneously sometimes (and connected again after that).
