In theory, net neutrality is the law of the land. In practice? Large ISPs know that the FCC has limited resources to investigate violations - giving them a free hand to do what they want. This is especially true for people (like me) who use VOIP. Nowadays, literally every ISP has their own high-priced VOIP service. And they "expect" customers to use it. But many people (like me) choose to use MagicJack, Vonage, or another VOIP service - independent of ISPs. ISPs use packet-sniffers to determine the nature of traffic. And if they notice people using a competing VOIP service, some have been known to "throttle back" their speeds to make customers think the competing service is bad. In truth, it's a dirty trick ISPs pull on their own customers - making the ISP's own VOIP service look better than it actually is. The solution is a VPN. ISPs can see "traffic" but don't know what "kind" of traffic it is. And since using Private Internet Access, I haven't noticed any throttling. Since my own VOIP choice is considerably cheaper than my ISP's VOIP, and since I want to "continue" using this cheaper service, I'm confident that PIA is the answer to this problem. I have every right to choose my own VOIP service - unfettered by an ISP's greed to steer customers toward their OWN service.
GREAT SERVICE AT A REASONABLE PRICE!!! I haven't used a vpn before, and it's only been about a week, but setup was very easy and speeds are good. I got this because isp can now sell internet browsing history, feel much safer now.
Easy fast setup. No complaints.
Unable to sign up due to the stupidity of PIA's A.I. Going on two weeks with back and forth emails. Changed password several times. Asked for clarification on non-renewal option; couldn't find the link. Cancelled payment with Amazon and started over; still doesn't work. Left my phone number; they refused to call me (security reasons. bunk!!) Between the order numbers and usernames, inability to cancel auto-renewal, confusing interface and general disfunction, I'm through trying. These guys are disorganized (and that's the polite version.) They (PIA) got a recommendation from Youtube tech teacher David A. Cox. I'll be writing him to retract his opinion.
I'm still new to this but I can tell that this thing is pretty good. It seems to move around so you are not always in the same spot. My business is my business and no one elses. I still wonder what my Internet provider sees, if any thing.
I did not use any VPN beforehand as thought I did not have enough knowledge to setup the technology successfully! No special knowledge was required to get my Windows 10 PC and my Android phones going. Very impressed with the speed.
Private Internet Access is working well after I het into it. I have some trouble getting access.
Great VPN Service. Support, speed and compatibility are great. Very secure - no logging. Allows all traffic and they have dozens of servers across the globe.
VPN not working properly. Sold on 24/7 service however support has been slow to respond to issues raised.
Your software works fine, however there a few anomalies I came across. I uploaded PIA apk to an Amazon Fire Stick and a Fire TV; the results were strange and intermittent.
