Software is bad and getting worse. When I first used the software a year ago it had a few bugs, now its terrible.
I was told that it would work in Mexico, or other places I traveled, that I could still access everything from USA tv to websites! Everyone of them could tell I was using a VPN and denied service. I even tried connecting to 12 different countries through this company! I still have another year to pay because they will not give refunds! Do not use this company, it does not work! I will probably be punished for this negative review by them. They have a lot of my info of the banks and other places I tried to access that they said I could access when I traveled.
I subscribed for the 3 year plan, i am coming from expressvpn 3 years customer. Nord is good but weird enough the nearest location to me have huge latency (Middle east) Turkey, Cyprus, Israel, Greece. When I connect to Italy i get less latency and better speed. Customer service is very good, i do not regret buying it. I dont care where I connect, I care about speed, latency.
Two issues - does not support BBC iPlayer from outside UK, and very unimpressed with customer service.. i've sent two support requests and not had a response to either.
Not impressed with the faceless customer support or the fact that the apps for Mac OS X and devices are very inferior to windows and android versions. When I contacted them with help accessing Amazon while overseas (Amazon blocks NordVPN access), their help was insufficient. The settings available on windows and android apps are not available on the Mac. Get some decent apps for the Mac please. Update: ticket numbers should tell you all you need to know about this company. Although I have paid for a 2-year subscription, I closed my account and deleted the software. It played havoc with my iMac. Unless you have lots of free time and are tec-savvy, you are at the mercy of the poor service they choose to provide for you. They take no responsibility for problem solving other than to throw lots of technical instructions at you. I'm switching to a free service, plenty out there, I will lower my expectations but at least I won't have thrown money down the drain. The worst software purchase I have ever made (and that's saying something considering I bought Lotus Notes once!).
Worst experience. Keep disconnecting every few hours on my new phone. When I contacted customer service I was told the fix is not available and they might able to fix it in the near future until then I have to connect to their server manually. However when I connect manually to a server, sometimes the speed drops over 50% and then I have manually reconnect to a different server. Really a pain and this is not what I expected when I paid for the 3 year service. Now its passed 30 days they are refusing my refund. :( Avoid!!! Does not work all phones and there is guarantee.. once you pay you are stuck even if they dont provide you the agreed service. :(
Cannot Recommend this service. I signed up for their 2 year service in Black Friday 2018 for $100 total for the two years. I now wish I did not and went with something like ExpressVPN instead. Their service was fine at first for about the first two months, but now 10 months in, I can barely get any speed whatsoever on the American, Canadian, Irish, German, London, or Australian services (the ones I wanted to use) I am talking crawl type speeds totally unsuitable for pretty much anything other than website browsing. I wanted this to watch streaming services from other countries but it is unusable for this purpose. As a result, I have had to switch to Private Internet Access which while doesn't work with Netflix, works with all the others in giving a decent speed connection. To be honest even cheap as chips Windscribe is much better than this. NordVPN is not fit for its purpose. Pay the extra for ExpressVPN or get Private Internet Access if you don't need Netflix.

I had a fantastic experience with NordVPN. Read this... At a certain point, a pop up windows comes up to tell me to install an update. I do that, but.. the program doesn't work anymore! No problem, it cost me an evening of chat with support to realise... that the update didn't work for me and I had to continue with the older version. BUT.. the pop up window keeps on appearing every hour, interrupting my work. I contact the support again. After an hour, their final answer: we can't do anything about that! So now I am with a program I paid for, and to keep it working I just have to accept that it sends a pop up, right in my face.. every hour. Ok, this can happen... but which did it: their customer's support didn't do anything. I ask my money back (how could I keep using this).. their answer: you are out of the refund period of 30 days. So think twice.. is this really the way you want to be treated... arrogant, not customer friendly... just selling a product and no respect for clients. That's my opinion.
I tried NordVPN and everything was great until their tool Cybersec starting blocking me from Miscrosoft Edge and my google mail. Customer service told me to disable the Cybersec, which I did, but it continued to block these sites. Customer service then decided that it was up to me to go into my computer and change to their DNS addresses, which would mean mucking around with my internet connections no thank you very much. I went to customer service one last time and had to ask 4 times to just please cancel my account and refund my money, which they eventually did (waiting to see the refund, expected in 3-4 days - it always gets me that on purchase, it doesn't take these companies 3-4 days to get my money.). Nord VPN also seemed slow to connect for me, but I thought that this just come with the territory? I spent a lot of time researching VPNs before choosing NordVPN and I am really disappointed. Back to the drawing board.
