I've been using Encrypt.me since 2014 (back when it was Cloak). The automatic connection with a whitelist, syncing across all of my devices made it really convenient. Unfortunately app updates frequently break the iOS app, resulting in an unsecure connection. Poor time-to-connect and general VPN activation issues require re-opening the app to enable or disable the VPN on iOS as well. On desktop, bandwidth/transfer speeds leave much to be desired, especially relative to competing services.

There are times I have to shut Encrypt.me off in order to connect to the internet. Then, after connecting, I turn it back in again ... sometimes it provides connection & protection; other times it disconnects again. But I do want to say 90% of the time it works flawlessly.

I have good success with my iPad in hotels etc. My iPhone does not seem as easy to connect to wi-fi. I often just leave it off the wi-fi.

Encrypt.me usually works invisibly in the background and requires no thought, concern or delay. Once in awhile, some hotel wi-fi are difficult to sign on to because the acceptance/authorization page is very slow to come up, and Encrypt.me won't start until your connection to the web is made. Those can sometimes be frustrating to get to connect, but the lack of the "VPN" icon on my tablet, or the blue check dot on my laptop tells me there's something wrong with my connection. Once I get connected, Encrypt.me is there protecting my session.
