Easy to use, and easy to not use! I'm back in college and online test taking doesn't groove well with VPN's. PIA's widget makes it easy to turn off and on quickly. Plus. The mobile version is great when I'm on the campus wifi.

I used to use VyprVPN by Goldenfrog which had a really nice user friendly interface, but then I learned that they keep logs of all your connections that makes it possible for a 3rd party to track you down if they get that log. Looked around and PIA came highly recommended. Have been using it for almost a year now and has been nothing but awesome. The interface is a little less user friendly than VyprVPN's but if you're using an advanced tool like VPN, it's not a problem in any way. I love the transparency on the potential side effects of some features like Kill Switch, which VyprVPN never mentioned, and I definitely had issues that looking back now make sense. The price is great and I love the anonymization of everything. The one issue I've had is with the shared IP. There have been (rare) occasions where I cannot sign into places like GitHub due to someone else using the same shared IP getting our IP banned. This is sometimes fixed by reconnecting and to try and get a different shared IP, or disconnecting, logging in to GitHub and then reconnecting to the VPN.

It's a bit of a pain having the VPN throw a fit when switching from WiFi to mobile data but I expect that can't be helped. I don't know how to rate the effectiveness but I haven't been arrested on a trumped up charge of being offensive or anything so... Yeah
