After enjoying service with another company, I took the advice of a trusted tech friend and installed PIA on two IOS devices and OS X, all with the latest versions of their software It’s the first time since 2000 that my tech friend has ever let me down. I experienced nothing but problems with PIA. Constant connectivity issues while using the service, I’d be browsing only to find that the service connection had been lost. Also, after being left idle for a short while, my IOS devices would be ‘dead’ making it impossible to navigate anywhere via WiFi or LTE without first changing regions or turning the App off, closing it and restarting it, that was a drag! The speeds were ridiculously slow in every region I tested including the closest local servers. With OS X, the first thing to disappoint was the warning, or more of a threat really when I tried to turn on the lock feature that was one of their advertised features. I was “allowed” to turn on MASE for Safari however. I decided it was time for a refund when I noticed PIA was turning off my OS firewall without asking or telling me. There may be a perfectly reasonable explanation for this, but when anything takes that kind of control of my computer overriding locked in settings requiring an administrative password, again, without any notification whatsoever, I don’t like it. So when I choose to disconnect from PIA, I’m running around without my firewall?! Kind of counter productive. It’s nice that PIA expresses an interest in resolving issues, but honestly, where to begin? I don’t have the time. I just need my VPN to work well. I’m going back to my previous VPN service where I had none of these problems. I would love to refer you to a much better service, but then this review would loose validity.

This service blocks many commonly used sites such as craigslist.I was not aware of this when I paid for one year of service. My father went in the hospital shortly after with complications from cancer so I didn't have a chance to try the service out for several days. By the time I found that I could not visit many of my usual sites when going through the VPN they refused to return any of my money. So I am stuck with 11 + months of useless service. I guess they need the money more than they need customer respect. Update They posted for me to contact their customer service for assistance but I already communicated back and forth several times with Alex and no resolution was reached. I just have to accept their policy.

tried several vpns this one had best speed after 1month trial i paid for 1 year package but keep getting emails for the 1 month service until I reported it then they removed it. issues, to put on one of my android fire tv boxs all the pia links would not work,even directly from pia websight, i had to download apptoid tv app then get pia apk off that app then all was well. Issue #2== read fine print, after you sign up you need to cancel auto recurring payment then it will tell you you have 364 days left on your service to use. upon sign up pia automatically makes your payment to auto pay I dont like this. issue#3== speed, I have 200 mbps service live in hawaii but when vpn on it cuts down to 30-75 avg thats a big hit but still better than most others i have tried so i will use until i find a better speed vpn out there. Issue#4== only 5 devices is also pretty lame I will be trying ip vanish next just because it has 10 devices but need to see if it has better speed / less drop first. I hope this helps someone to save some time. I spent last month trying several vpns on several devices to see which ones had best avg speed.

I've only been using PIA a few days so my review is very limited. The connections have been solid without drops and the speed is good. As with any vpn the added ping makes it useless for gaming or other highly ping sensitive applications but everything else seems to work fine.
