I have been using Surfshark for a few months now on Windows 10; iPad and iPhone. All working fine, had a snag a few days ago with my Windows 10 PC not connecting as it transpired it was down to an issue on my PC. After contacting Surfshark for help they could not be faulted for the assistance I received to get me up and running again They really went that extra mile. Best Regards to the Team

The VPN service itself looked good, they have a Decent amount of servers, support multiple protocols and have apps for most major Operating Systems. Of course the internet will be slower when using a VPN due to some overhead, however the overhead looked reasonable for my 50 MBit/s internet connection. But approximately 2 Days after purchase I have decided to ask for a refund because I asked myself whether or not I would need a VPN and I clearly decided that I don't need one. To get the Refund I opened a ticket using the online contact form and kindly asked for a refund. The initial reply asked for a reason why I wanted a refund. I made up some technical reasons I was aware they definitely cannot fix. The reply took them roghly 24h with typical salesman arguments why I should use a VPN. After insisting on a refund they accepted and refunded the subscription. In my opinion this takes way too long.

Unfortunately, Surfshark joined the ranks of shady companies that attach automatic subscription to your payment, renewing the payment again and again in the future (without you having any say in the matter). On top of that they give you no option to cancel it, you have to essentially argue it out with their customer service, which is an even worse offence. Not everybody is so financially dumb that they do not keep the amount of debts and regular payments to a bare minimum or adjust them according to their current financial budget. To keep up with auto-renewals, especially with long-term services (such as 2 years), it would mean having to put dates of service expiration into your calendar (sometimes years ahead) so that you can come back to them at the given time to reassess or cancel them. Guess what folks, Surfshark and other sleazy sneakers count on the complications of doing that and use this opportunity to grab your money in advance, even presenting this as an "advantage for you, because when the time comes, you do not have to do anything" (only keep paying and paying of course). When I order pizza for two evenings, did I order it for my entire lifetime? No, but it is not stopping them. Nevermind the risk of a stranger getting hold of your bank account like that. History proves again and again that many companies have abused this sneaky trick to charge inexplicable extra payments and increase prices without your consent. And who do you think that has to bear the burden of proof in court? Proving that you e-mailed to cancel the service and that the said e-mail presents sufficient legal standard to act in a formal capacity or standard of proof. A big company which can afford all the lawyers in the world or a regular Joe, who is anything but ruined by an average lawsuit? Oh yeah, sure, it is written by fine letters somewhere in their Terms of Service, so enjoy spending 1/4 of your life reading hundreds of pages of every Terms of Service you ever come across only to come to the same conclusion, which is that not everything that is (barely) legal, is ethical or fair and keeps decency and balance between both contractual sides. We all know why they do it – cashflow. So enjoy being their cashcow or go somewhere else where they do not disadvantage the customer. No more shark-type of practices like this for me!

Trying to cancel my account Wrote a simple email to support, that i wanted to cancel my account. Instead of doing this i got an upselling response from the "support" asking me why. Just cancel my account. Super bad business. UPDATE: Took about 4 emails before they canceled my account. If you plan to swich VPN at some point dont use surfshark.

I have been targeted a few times by those who would want to trick me into a situation that I would have to pay to get out of. I was tired of it, and thought that sooner or later, I would fall victim to some scheme. I searched several VPN providers. They all seem to provide the same kind of service, but Surfshark allows more devices for a reasonable fee. I have not been disappointed. Since setting up Siurfshark on my devices (desktop, tablets and phones) I have had no contact from anyone who wanted to take advantage. I highly recommend Surfshark to anyone who wants online protection.

Although they claim they connected to a server in Turkey. The server is actually located in Taiwan. I raised this issue to them , initially they responded my emails although response time was very slow. After they could not solve the issue they stopped responding my emails. Don’t trust them.
