I have used NordVPN for some time, and like its ease of use. I have it on my computer, laptop and 2 mobiles, all as one subscription. I have used it while travelling, and can change countries easily. I have found that some pages won't load while using it, but overall very satisfied.

I had some very compromising data divulged when, in the middle of a file transfer, my laptop (running the latest edition of NordVPN) lost connection to the internet via wifi. When the laptop reconnected to our home network (it had been down only a few moments), NordVPN's internet kill-switch didn't activate. Speaking with Nord's support team, I learned the kill-switch does NOT activate if the machine first loses connection to the internet because, then, NordVPN is no longer active. The same support agent admitted that these transient wifi disconnects are "to be expected" with laptops. Given how likely it is that a wifi connected device will lose connection to wifi (and knock NordVPN off), many circumstances our family expected the kill-switch to protect our privacy in NordVPN simply can't. Other problems we've had with NordVPN are par for the course with VPN's: significant hits to our internet speed (wifi OR ethernet-connected), regular disconnects (Nord drops--but because our machines are still connected to the internet, the killswitch activates), quite a few failed connection sites (utility companies, government sites, others). These are prices we're willing to pay to protect our privacy. But a "kill-switch" that fails if a wifi connected device happens to lose internet connection (too likely an event) is a deal-breaker. We won't be renewing NordVPN after our 3-year subscription is up. NordVPN gets 2 stars instead of 1 star for not processing customers' private data (so we've read and hope is true).

Problem : some sites won't permit my system to login with NordVPN on, including my bank BMO, Netflix Canada and a few others.
