I've been using ExpressVPN for quite some time now, basically for streaming music and video otherwise inaccessible from my location. The service has been flawless and I highly recommend it.
After a apprehensive start I am in my 2nd year with ExpressVPN and I intend to continue using them. Setup was easy; finding the appropriate locations easy, connection and using the sites I needed is seamless. A couple of times the connection has dropped but by leaving the site I was linked to, disconnecting and reconnecting to the same location, everything worked fine again Nothing is perfect, but ExpressVPN is definitely doing an excellent job
Overall an excellent VPN. Definitely pricier than the competition but I believe you get value for money. It ultimately depends on your needs, a cheaper VPN like ProtonVPN will not be as fast, so Netflix or gaming may lag but will be as secure, if not more so in certain circumstances. I do believe what you get for the added cost, is very fast speeds, plus excellent customer support. Live chat available 24/7. Also very good uptime, and a one of the easiest to use app interfaces I’ve come across. I’ll be honest, in terms of comparisons, I’ve only used PureVPN and NordVPN maybe once each. PureVPN definitely wasn’t as fast, for me, at least. Nord is good but Express VPN is easier to use and has a simpler interface. Express VPN you press a three dot button to select what country you want, then click the big power button. It learns your regular top three locations and you quickly end up just clicking the power button to connect. Single click. If you choose smart location, it connects you to the nearest server, which maintains you’re internet speed very well. I believe ExpressVPN is the fastest and best for streaming video or gaming. NordVPN is a bit trickier to connect, it has a map style interface from memory. I don’t remember PureVPN. Pure responded to email support well but Express has 24/7 live chat and they’re very accommodating. My only criticism is that once, ages ago, Express accidentally added two subscriptions to my account, also credit card info shows up, albeit partially censored. Somebody else Must have bought subscriptions via credit card and it got added to my account. Support fixed it right away but since then, I’ve been reluctant to pay via Credit Card. Maybe use PayPal or some other method that obscures your payment details.
Apart from the world class security offered by ExpresssVPN, I have used it mostly for entertainingment purposes. I have been traveling all over, mostly in Europe and Asia. I for one cannot handle life with my sports. Through ExpressVPN I was able to watch all my games on ESPN or any American channel I had subscription to no matter where I was.
