We have used ExpressVPN, and other similar products in many parts of the world.But, for us the shining example of ExpressVPN's versatility and robustness was in the 3 years we spent in Shenzhen, China. It was necessary to make constant small adjustments because of the changing technical environment but ExpressVPN was equal to the task.
Express VPN don’t work in China, and their support team know. This is from my chat with Express VPN Support: Me: “Tell me what you know about your service in China?” Support: “Our service in China is still sporadic. China has always been aggressive towards our VPN.” Me: “How can you then sell your VPN as the best for China?” Support: “I understand that you are frustrated about our service.” Needless to say more. Update after Express VPN's answer: This is a neutral remark – as Express VPN have given me many times when we (3 users) needed their service in China. It would have been more convincing if the remark from Express VPN here have commented on that their service don’t work in China.
Stable (when it works) which was only on my desktop devices. Quick communication from staff support, but resolving my Android problem was severely lacking & extremely rude & arrogant. I was repeatedly unable to install the ExpressVPN APK software downloaded from my account, on any OS from Nougat up to Oreo on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, as i got the error message "incompatible with your phone". The first supporting staff on me opening a chat, offered me a full refund. I declined pending updating the OS as i didnt have time to look for another VPN at the time. When i got around to updating the OS, the software also failed with Oreo on my S7. The next support staff simply tried to fob me off, claiming my problem hadn't been reported by any customer before. Hello? My past report? (which i'd been sent a transcription of) The staff then desperately went on a mission trying to prove to me that non of the complaint support question headings in the troubleshooting area of the company website makes provision for my problem. I eventually found the 'failure to install' heading which i believed comfortably accomodated contacting support about my problem. But no, the support staff claimed that 'software not installing' is different to software not installing because 'incompatible with phone'. At that point i stated i will not be renewing my subscription and asked for a copy of our online chat to be sent to my email address. The staff quickly ended the chat without asking if i had more questions & to add insult to injury the staff blocked me from opening any other support chat. No copy of chat received to my email either. My subsequent emailed requests also went unanswered. So i found ExpressVPN's customer support for new problems or unfixable problems is absolutely dreadful. A shame as i would have continued subscription if the Android software had worked and had the staff not been so rude & arrogant..
